Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is the cost of Mobile Grooming higher than that of brick and mortar salons?

A: The cost is a lot different from a store front shop, but mobile grooming is a luxury service designed for convenience to pet owners. All of my time and attention is focused solely on your pet for the time they’re in my care. Also, I only also use premium quality products and equipment to insure your pet has the best care every single time.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. If you’d prefer to pay online via invoice, I can email one ahead of time. However, It must be settled prior to your appointment.

Q: May I stay with my pet while they are being groomed?

A: Unfortunately, no. When owners are close by, pets are much more wiggly and distracted, which makes it more likely for accidents to happen.

Q: Do you have a weight limit?

A: Our weight limit is 25lbs. Any dogs who weigh a little more will be considered on a case by case basis.

Q: My dogs have fleas. Will you groom them?

A: We cannot groom them while fleas are present. Pets must be flea free before their appointment. Since I’m grooming in a small, closed area, I can’t risk transference to any other pets who will be in my care for the remainder of the day. If your pet currently has fleas, please see your vet for a Capstar pill to kill any live fleas and also start a monthly preventative to keep them away. If I arrive and fleas are present, your appointment will be rescheduled until your pet is treated.

Q: Do you give discounts?

A:The only discount we have is for referrals. When you refer 3 people and they book and keep an appointment, you’ll receive $10.00 off you next bill.

Q: Do you groom sedated pets?

A: No. Sedatives can affect your pet’s heart rate and blood pressure as well as increase the likelihood of seizures. Veterinary supervision is always best where sedatives are concerned.

Q: Do you groom cats?

A: At this time we do not. We do however offer nail trims for our feline friends. Just give us a call to see when we’ll be in your area.

Q: Do you groom females in heat?

A: We do not. Aside from hygiene aspects, females in heat tend to be much more temperamental for their groom. It’s best to wait until their heat cycle is finished so they don’t have any additional stress or discomfort.

Q: I need to apply a topical flea treatment, but my pet is getting groomed soon. When should I apply it?

A: The general rule is to apply it 48 hours before grooming so it has time to spread out and be absorbed or 48 hours after grooming to allows oils in your pet’s skin to re-emerge and help spread the treatment.

Q: Is it ok to bathe my pet at home prior to the groom?

A: We would still need to re-bathe your pet to insure any residue from shampoo is rinsed clean and also so that your pet is dried properly to allow for the best possible scissor finish on the coat.

Q: My dog has bitten before. Will you groom him?

A: While I groom many pets with mild grooming related anxiety, I refer aggressive pets to the Vet where they can be sedated and safely groomed with no stress. I wish I could groom them all, but when you’re dealing with unpredictable and aggressive behavior, I simply cannot.

Q: How often should my pet be groomed?

A: For baths, we have many clients who are on a bi-weekly schedule. For full grooms and mini-makeovers, we recommend that pets be groomed every 4-6 weeks depending on how much maintenance owners are willing to do at home. In order to schedule appointments with us, we do require that pets go no longer than 8 weeks between grooms. Pets that are groomed regularly have a much greater tolerance for the process and can enjoy many cute, fluffier styles.

Q: My pet is having a hard time seeing and she has some tangles. Is it okay to trim around her face or trim knots out at home?

A: We know you want what’s best for your pet, but in the interest of safety, we ask that you wait until your grooming appointment. Removing tangled hair that is close to the skin can be a little tricky, and accidents can happen if the proper removal methods aren’t used.

When it come to a face that’s a little too shaggy, please give me a call so I can come out for an al-a-carte face trim next time I’m in your area. Face trims are $25.00.

Q: My pet has an appointment but the forecast is calling for rain. Can I reschedule?

A: I will confirm your appointment 48 hours in advance. If the weather is looking unfavorable, you will have the option to reschedule at that time. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment are subject to a missed appointment charge before you can rebook if we cannot fill your time slot. Since we work strictly by appointment, last minute cancellations negatively impact our schedule and we lose the ability to serve another customer.

In the event of rain, we will use ponchos for our smaller friends and umbrellas for our medium ones so that they stay as dry as possible between exiting the van and your door.

Q: Why does it take a while to receive a response sometimes?

A: In the interest of safety and minimizing distractions during the grooming process and while we are en route to stops, we do not answer calls or texts during that time.

Please rest assured that we will be back with you as promptly as possible.

We respond to calls and texts Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am-6:00 pm.
